Australian fine-art laboratory

Print with Fitzgerald Photo.

If the feel of the paper matters to you, let’s look at the choices together. This Perth laboratory offers pigment fine-art prints on smooth, textured and satin papers.

A few things I’d check first

The online service specifies flattened, 8-bit RGB JPEG files with an embedded sRGB or Adobe RGB profile. Its guide recommends 250–300 pixels per inch at the intended size. Do not simply rename a different file format to .jpg.

Let’s work through your order

  1. Compare the fine-art papers

Let’s open Fine Art Prints and read the surface descriptions. Choose a paper that suits your room and the artwork; request advice or a proof if colour and texture are especially important.

  2. Open online ordering

Follow Order Now into the Fine Art Prints catalogue. Choose the paper, finished dimensions and any available border option.

  3. Check the file preparation

Use a copy of your purchased JPEG. The lab asks for short filenames without special characters; a name such as RJC0186.jpg is suitable. Let’s keep the filename simple; the artwork can do the storytelling. Ask me for help if conversion is needed.

  4. Upload and inspect the fit

Check the composition at the selected size. Confirm whether the stated dimensions describe the paper or the image area, especially if you have added a border.

  5. Ask about anything uncertain

Resolve cropping, profile or resolution warnings with the laboratory before placing the order. A larger pixel count alone does not guarantee a better print.

  6. Review the order

Check paper, quantity, delivery address, full cost and timing. Save your confirmation and retain the original digital artwork separately.

You may use a professional printer or a private one-off print-on-demand order for display allowed by your digital licence. Keep the file private. Decline promotional sharing of the artwork; if a provider requests rights beyond producing your print, check with Robin before uploading. Do not publish it to a shop, resell prints or turn it into merchandise.
