My story · Robin Custance

Art, ideas
and a sense
of place.

An artist in Adelaide. A love of colour and Country. And a practical curiosity about what we can make.

The person behind the pictures

G’day, I’m Robin.

I’m Robin Custance, an Aboriginal Australian artist based in Adelaide. My family connections reach to Naracoorte and Boandik Country in South Australia. Country, wildlife, colour and memory are at the heart of my digital art.

Dream Art Gallery gives that work a home of its own. You’ll find quiet landscapes, familiar wildlife, flowers and colour that sometimes has rather a lot to say. The collection leaves room for different moods: something peaceful, something playful, or a picture that reminds you of a place you love.

I want you to have time to look. To notice the smaller details, imagine a piece in your space and choose something because it means something to you.

The art and the website.

I created this website as well as the artwork. That connection matters to me: the gallery should carry the same care as the pictures it holds, from the way an artwork is displayed to the guidance that helps you bring it into your home.

The gallery supplies digital artwork files. You choose the piece and download size, then arrange the printing that suits you. I’ve written the printing guides to help with that next step. If a frame needs a different shape, have a chat with me before you buy so I can check what will work.

The same creative work, in other places

Beyond the gallery.

My interest in images, words and useful design also runs through DigiThat and PorridgeWeb. They give that work two other homes: personal help with a business website, and tools for people who want to shape their own.

Website design, with a conversation

DigiThat

I founded DigiThat in Adelaide to bring the creative and practical sides of a website together. I handle design and development, shaping the words, layout and experience around the business and its customers.

I work with Greg Hamilton, whose role is Business Growth and Client Partnerships. Greg brings more than 30 years across sales, marketing, design and business development. He helps people talk through their priorities and turn them into a useful brief; I bring that direction into the design and build.

We start with what a customer needs to understand and do. The work can include clearer content, a fresh visual direction and a website makeover, with the scope agreed together. There’s room for questions, discussion and a little humour along the way.

A workshop for your own ideas

PorridgeWeb

I created PorridgeWeb at DigiThat for small businesses, independent professionals and makers who want to take a more hands-on role in their website.

It brings planning, design tools and practical learning into one workshop. Start by working out what you need to say, explore a visual direction, then shape the words, colours, images and pages. Free starting tools let you explore; membership opens the website studio and the tools included in your plan.

You can preview your work at different screen sizes, keep a backup and download the static website files. Hosting, domains and business email are arranged separately. The step-by-step guides help you understand what comes next.

It’s a way to build confidence as you make something useful, with DigiThat there to explore if you’d prefer personal design and development help.
