Emu in a Starry Galaxy

An emu stands against a swirling deep blue galaxy, with warm gold stars scattered through black space and light catching the feathers along its neck. The vertical portrait combines a familiar Australian bird shape with a deliberately imaginative celestial setting. This piece can make a dramatic feature in a living room, bedroom, hallway or study where dark blue can add depth without feeling flat. The bird reads immediately from across the room, while the galaxy and small points of light reward a closer look.

I kept the emu recognisable and let the background carry the fantasy. The celestial dots and sweeping blue movement are personal compositional choices within my contemporary Aboriginal-inspired practice, used for atmosphere rather than to assign a fixed cultural story.
