Sea Turtle in Warm Coral Reef

A turtle’s red and orange shell arcs across the reef, its blue flippers patterned with bright golden lines. Small fish move between branches of violet coral and pale, fan-like forms below. From the upper right, a shower of fine light draws the scene together, picking out the turtle’s face as it moves across the image. The turtle crosses the frame with one long flipper reaching towards the foreground, while warm reef colour gathers beneath and around it. Smaller fish punctuate the blue water and help carry the eye through the scene without competing with the main subject. I kept the turtle visually steady while repeated marks and coral shapes create a stronger current around it. The dot-style treatment belongs to my contemporary personal digital practice and is used for rhythm, layering and colour rather than as a statement of fixed cultural meaning.
