Old Man Pa Kangaroo Dot-Style Portrait

Old Man Pa turns slightly across a fiery orange field, with deep black, red and blue circular patterns gathering behind the kangaroo portrait. The profile gives the face a calmer line than the front-facing versions, while the background carries most of the movement and colour. The piece has enough visual strength for a living room, hallway, study or gallery wall where the surrounding decor can stay simple. From across the room the warm profile is immediate; up close, the layered circles, small dots and grass textures create a much more intricate surface.

The direction of the head gave me the starting point here. I kept the kangaroo quieter and let the background spiral and gather behind it, so the eye moves between stillness and pattern. The dot-style and circular marks are my own contemporary Aboriginal-inspired design choices for rhythm and colour, with no assigned cultural narrative.
