About this artwork
The pale trunk on the right is the first thing to catch the eye: a clean, curving shape against folds of orange and blue-grey country. Its branches spread into a canopy flecked with cream and gold, carrying the brightness above the hills. Across the near slope, red earth gives way to close-set marks of turquoise, yellow and white. Those small details soften the rocky setting without hiding its contours. The result is a richly coloured panorama with a clear focal point, balancing the tree’s flowing outline against the repeated folds of the ranges.
