About this artwork
Small flowers spread across the hillside in loose ribbons of white, pink and warm gold. Their fine detail gives the slope a lightness that contrasts with the broad, branching tree above them. The tree stands to the right, its pale and rust-coloured trunk lit against a darker wooded valley. Beyond it, low red ranges sit beneath blue-grey clouds and a brighter patch of sky. Rather than relying on a single oversized bloom, this work builds its richness through many small marks. The eye can settle into that detail, then lift towards the wider view. Digital download in JPEG format: 14,400 × 7,200 pixels, 2:1 landscape, with embedded 300 dpi metadata. No physical artwork or frame is supplied; you arrange printing separately.
A hillside can seem still from a distance and become busy the moment it is examined closely. Here, that change in attention is the story. The flowers do not need to be individually named for their variety to register; their gathering gives the slope its sense of abundance.
