Old Man Pa Kangaroo at Ember Fence

Old Man Pa faces the viewer beside a weathered fence post, surrounded by glowing orange grasses and a deep ember-red background. The post adds a strong vertical counterpoint to the kangaroo portrait, while the patterned colour behind them keeps the scene rich and lively. The warm country palette suits a living room, hallway, study or sitting room with timber, black or earthy neutral furnishings. From across the room the face and fence post give the composition a clear structure; up close, the fur, grass and small dot-style marks add another layer.

The fence post is what separates this version from the tighter portraits. I kept it visible as a simple piece of the scene, giving the kangaroo something solid to sit beside while the grasses and colour move around both forms. The dot-style detail belongs to my own contemporary Aboriginal-inspired visual practice and is used for atmosphere as a personal compositional choice.
