Old Man Pa Kangaroo in Open Country

Old Man Pa stands against open ochre grass and a broad blue sky, with distant trees softening into the background. The portrait is close enough to hold the expression, yet the surrounding country gives it more breathing room than the tighter studies in this group. That combination makes the artwork a natural fit for a living room, hallway, bedroom or study with warm timber, earthy neutrals or blue accents. From across the room the kangaroo and open sky are clear; closer in, the grass, fur and distant tree shapes add depth without clutter.

For this version I wanted the animal to remain the focus while still feeling part of a wider landscape. I kept the horizon low and the background soft so the head and shoulders stayed crisp against the blue. The result is less about a specific place than the familiar openness of Australian country: dry grass, scattered trees and a lot of sky.
