Blue and Orange Kangaroo Portrait

A close kangaroo portrait emerges from deep blue shadow, with warm orange light catching the face, chest and upright ears. The side profile is simple and strong, while the background shifts between textured blue and rust-coloured panels for a contemporary graphic feel. The blue-orange contrast makes this vertical wildlife portrait a natural feature piece for a living room, hallway, study or bedroom. The animal reads clearly from across the room, and the softer layered textures around the edges give the image more depth when you move closer.

I kept the kangaroo itself grounded and recognisable, then used the surrounding colour to create the atmosphere. The patterned and Aboriginal-inspired elements are part of my contemporary personal digital practice, used as compositional choices for balance, rhythm and framing rather than to turn the portrait into a fixed cultural narrative.

AI-assisted creative tools supported the development of this artwork. I personally selected, refined, verified and prepared the finished digital artwork, upscaled its production master to 14,400 pixels along its long edge and added my digital signature.
